As the towers light up: a riverside skyline turns to night
Diego FernándezWhy it matters: A timelapse turns a cloudy evening into night as towers and skyscrapers switch on their lights.
The timelapse shows a skyline of skyscrapers and a broadcast tower rising on the far bank of a wide river. Clouds race across an overcast sky as daylight slowly fades.
As darkness falls, the facades light up one by one and the tower’s pink and violet lights become the focal point of the skyline, while illuminated boats leave coloured trails on the water.
Architecture critics often say a skyline is one of the quickest ways to read a city’s identity.
